Nominations for the Village of Elnora general election will be open between January 1, 2021 to September 20, 2021 at 12PM. If you are interested in becoming a candidate for the Elnora Village Council, please review A Candidates Guide: Running for Municipal Office in Alberta. This guide will provide you with vital information regarding legislative requirements, candidate qualifications, the roles and responsibilities of an Elected Official, and the nomination process. Additionally, you may want to review the Councillor Members Handbook, What every Councillor needs to know, to have a better understand of the roles and duties you will be required to perform if you are elected to office.

Nomination forms can be found at Alberta.ca or a copy can be provided to you upon request at the Village Office. Nomination forms will need to be recieved by the Returning Officer by September 20, 2021 at 12PM at the Village Office located at 219 Main Street. The Village Office is currently open by appointment only, but you can make an appointment by contacting the Village Office to obtain nominations forms, have your nomination form signed by a Commisisoner of Oaths, and/or recieved by the Returning Officer.
Elections will be held on October 18, 2021 if there are more candidates then positions available. At that time, a Notice of Elections will be advertised in the Advance, at the village office, and on the village website.
Voters will be required to provide proof of their name and home address to vote in the Village of Elnora Elections. If you are unsure if you are eligible to vote, please see voter identification requirements.
Please note that all candidates will be required to follow Alberta Health regulations while they are campaigning.
