A close knit, welcoming community with outstanding educational opportunities (playschool to Grade 8), it is a safe and caring environment for young families to settle and grow. The Village also offers an active and thriving Youth Centre, a summer fun program (as evidenced by a young participant sprinting down the street, gasping ‘I’m late for Summer Fun’, a Library Summer Reading Program and Family Community Support Services (FCSS) whose mandate is to provide preventative social programming that fosters wellbeing and connectedness for all residents, regardless of age. Elnora Neighbourhood Place whose focus is on childhood development and programming is available to support and promote family oriented life styles.
Our business sector is small but diverse, strong in the face of challenges related to current economic conditions.
The community thrives on volunteerism and hosts many major events that draw large crowds from across Central Alberta. Most notable is ‘brahma Rama’ held annually in August – they celebrated 20 years in 2018.
To boast…. The Village hosted the Canadian Girls National Baseball competition in 2018 (Elnora Eagles took first place qualifying to compete in the 2018 senior league World Series), our community will be hosting this event again in 2019 (Go Eagles, Go!!!)
The village is a constant beehive of activities, events, and organizations that make people come back time and again for the good times and the laughter – a small community with a big heart and a welcome mat!
