Candidate Bios

"Hello My name is Ron Duft, and I’m proud to be running for Village council again here in Elnora. I was born here, 4th generation, three sets of Great Grand parents settled this area from 1900 -1920. I have lived in this area for 34 years of my life and in the Village for the past 5 years. I moved away for school and career.
I spent 26 years away working, electronics manufacturing, oil & gas communications and SCADA systems and Internet services. I returned for family and continued my career in the area and served the community for 13 years.
Since then I have retired, I continue as a care giver and serving on Council. I want to see our community grow as a safe, affordable, and welcoming place for families, businesses, and future generations.

My priorities are really simple: keeping the lights on. By ensuring responsible spending of our tax dollars, maintaining and improving local infrastructure and services, to make sure everyone has a voice. I believe in practical solutions, open communication, and working together—not politics for its own sake.

I’m running again because I care about this community. Moving forward I want stability and a sustainable, accountable path towards our future. I want to thank you for your support so that we can build a stronger community together. Thank you.

~ Ron Duft

"I bring a unique, grounded perspective as a mother of two, a dedicated wife, and a hardworking grocery store clerk deeply rooted in our community. I understand the everyday challenges families face—from putting nutritious food on the table to managing tight budgets—because I live them every day. I'm not a career politician; I’m a neighbour who cares, committed to transparency, inclusivity, and making decisions that reflect the real needs of working families. With your support, I’ll ensure our voices are heard and our community thrives"

"I love this little village, it has been my home for many years. I am down to earth, always up for a little nonsense. I would like this village to thrive. Change is inevitable"
