Summer Student
Seasonal Part Time

 

The role of summer staff is to provide seasonal assistance to permanent employees to complete daily tasks and provide manual labor as required in areas of public works, parks and recreation, utilities, waste management and municipal facilities.

 

Duties may include:

  • Assisting the Parks Department in related activities including, but not limited to, mowing, weeding and maintenance of public and recreation areas;

  • Assisting with maintenance of municipal facilities including, but not limited to, sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, sealing, buffing, washing, vacuuming, removing trash, etc.

  • Assisting the Public Works Department in related activities including, but not limited to, waste collection, picking up litter, line painting, street/alley maintenance and barricades;

  • Assisting the Utilities Department in related activities including, but not limited to, painting pipes, cleaning pumphouse, minor maintenance;

  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

 

Candidates with a valid Class 5 Drivers License preferred.  Safety footwear is a requirement.

 

Hours:   30 hours per week 

   8 weeks (July 2nd to August 27, 2025)

Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
Full time permanent
​

The Village of Elnora “the Friendly Community” is looking for a full time permanent Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).  The CAO would be responsible for the day-to-day affairs of the Village as outlined in the Municipal Government Act (MGA), Village bylaws, and policies as set by Council. 

​

The CAO will:

  • Provide effective advice and support to the Mayor and Council in developing, implementing, and executing bylaws, policies, and strategies.

  • Deliver solid leadership to Village staff.

  • Ensure that Village staff are committed to providing the highest level of service to the general public and the business community through clear and transparent communication.

 

The CAO will possess:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Public Administration and/or significant and relevant municipal experience.

  • A proven record of working effectively with elected officials, local government staff, community volunteers, boards and committees, the school board, key stakeholders, and public participation processes.

  • Solid fiscal management experience and expertise, especially around planning and budgeting.  The ability to convey financial information in a manner that can be clearly understood by others. 

  • Working knowledge of the MGA and other relevant municipal legislation.

  • An understanding of, and appreciation for, good governance.
